GET TO KNOW THE ARTIST VICKIE MCINTYRE
Vickie is an accomplished makeup artist with over seven years of experience. She has a strong foundation in film, fashion, and beauty. A graduate with honours from New Image College of Fine Arts, she has department-headed multiple feature films and documentaries, served as Key Makeup Artist for several local fashion events, and taught entry to special fx makeup workshops at Purpose Secondary School.
Vickie is known for her versatility and technical skill across beauty, film, and creative work. In 2024, she was nominated for a Leo Award for makeup fx work in film; I Can't Go On, worked on the West Coast campaign for Mernini Raincoats and was key makeup for Canadian musician Shilah Griffiths music video and mini documentary. She has a keen eye for detail a calm, intuitive presence, and an exceptional ability to read the room. Vickie knows when a client wants to chat and when they simply need a quiet, grounding experience.
Vickie thrives on the versatility of her craft, whether she’s building cinematic creatures one day or perfecting a bride’s signature look the next. She believes flawless makeup begins from within, emphasizing skincare and hydration as the true foundation of beauty. Her philosophy is simple: makeup is art, and art is subjective. She encourages every client to have fun, and express themselves fully.
Vickie's interest in makeup artistry was peaked when she moved to Vancouver in 2007, where she developed friendships with a number of performers, from Drag Kings to glitzy Burlesque Dancers. She began performing herself, and that fueled her creativity.
A latch key kid at heart, Vickie has always had a love for film and TV. She is also an avid horror fan, with a passion for red lips, high heels and sharp fangs!
Combine that with her love of burlesque, vintage lingerie and glamorous makeup, she can create any look you can conceive! Whether you want to be a sexy creature feature or a vintage bombshell, Vickie has you covered.
